You are always welcome back!!!
If you find life to busy, remember SUSF is not your number 1 priority! Take a break from the projects, and come back when you’re ready. Our team leaders will ensure you are taught what is needed for your project and find a role which is suited to your level when you get back.
Obviously you are still invited to our socials and events though;)
If you are going to be gone a while, it is easier to let your team leader know if possible so they may shift responsibilities around. If you yourself are a team leader or have responsibilities, definitely let everyone know, even if it is an internship or similar.
All the best:)
You can join any as many as you like!
At the start of the year, we host short workshops for every team before you even have to sign up to SUSF. These are open to all years, and let you experience any team and see if it, or even SUSF, is right for you.Â
Once the year is started, SUSF’s schedule is then designed to minimise overlaps of team meetings to allow you to continue involvement in multiple teams. We also encourage all our members to attend our weekly workshop meetings alongside their team meetings. This allows us to develop our skills further and improve cross communication and opportunities through out the society.Â
One last thing, if you are ever unsure what you are to get involved with: just email us, the answer is probably yes!
Yes, of course. You can turn up to, or not turn up to, whatever meetings of whatever team, whenever it suits you, don’t forget to become a member though.
A minimum of once or twice a week, possibly less during exam periods or summer.
We schedule a meeting or two for each team per week, however many teams have extra meetings or workshops depending on specific timings, hardware accesss, etc.
Finally, we also can’t tell you how much you can be with your friends – just don’t be too odd.
Unfortunately, yes; fortunately, its less than many societies:)
For 2026-2027, it is £20 for the year.
Any extra costs towards society related projects are paid by SUSF because of this, with appropriate approval from the committee.Â
WE HAVE MANY
We have rocket launch parties, pub ones and non pub ones, escape rooms, stargazing ones and more as the year goes on – many of these partnered with other societies.
We don’t advertise these on the website because… well…
Any university degree or degree of knowledge and skill is welcome. Diversity is the foundation of innovation and creativity, you are invited, not just welcomed!
Our weekly workshops our designed to help us all learn and develop our skills, no matter what degree we do or how much knowledge we have. We hope that all our members pool their skills together for even more epic engineering.Â
We actively want you to join if you are NOT aero and astro! Aero and astro still welcome of course though.
A new committee is elected by our members each year, before exams, at our Annual General Meeting (AGM). As many people as possible are invited to stand; even more are invited to vote – it is less competitive then you think.
As well as this, new committee members may be chosen throughout the year depending on the circumstances or need. If you think you could be on the committee to improve the society: email us, we’d appreciate your thoughts – possibly even your membership.
Many team leaders founded their projects; others were chosen by their team to lead them. Either are open to you. If you are unhappy with your team lead, or if you believe you have an idea for a new team, email us. Even more teams is pretty cool.
We most likely do: watch our Instagram, LinkedIn or webpage to see updates.
